Human Nature

Evolution is replicated and replayed in individual human development.

A seed bursts into a sapling, growing into a tree that bears apple fruit. Internal biology and external circumstances determine everything about its growth, health, productivity, and duration.

An individual human is formed by its inherent biology and reaction to external people and circumstances.

Driven from within; formed and deformed from without. Over time the adolescent and then the adult are driven from without; a stick that beats and shapes the mask we “are” – our false self believed to be our real self.

Drawn, pushed, urged from within, an energy/life force detects the inauthenticity and we are invited, a carrot to deconstruct this fabricated self, to remove the mask and reveal our true self.

I commit to identify, dismantle, and detach from my false self; to pursue the fostering of my true self: to align my attitude and actions with my human nature.

Herb K. was given the gift of freedom from alcohol February 21, 1984. As a result of the application of the Twelve Steps as contained precisely in the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, he experienced a profound spiritual awakening in 1988. Since then he has been very involved in carrying the message of recovery through presentations, facilitating workshops, and leading retreats.

He has authored three books to help people access the instructions and confirm the actual process contained in the Big Book for experiencing a spiritual awakening: Practicing the Here and Now: Being Intentional with Step 11 (2017), Twelve-Step Guide to Using the Alcoholics Anonymous Big Book (2004) and Twelve Steps to Spiritual Awakening: Enlightenment for Everyone (2010). His books are available on Amazon and other locations.
